will benefit the Shanahan Children’s Clinic, located in
Annapolis. The clinic, founded by Sandra Shanahan a NAPS
grandparent, provides health care to all uninsured children from birth to 19
years of age. The clinic is funded
completely by donations and grants, and is staffed by a Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner, volunteers, and interpreters. Your support of this effort is greatly appreciated! Another
Dress Down for Dollars Day is scheduled for Thursday, May 12. Students
have the option of
contributing to their choice of two charitable organizations. Donations of $2
may be made to the Save
the Children Fund for Japan and New Zealand Earth Quake Survivors. Or, students
may provide items from a
list of kindergarten supplies needed to support a school in Afghanistan. This
effort is in support of a project
headed by NAPS mom and USNA History Professor, Virginia Lunsford. A list and
further information will be
forthcoming. NAPS
Charitable Giving last month included a dress down day in support of Diabetes
research. We raised $611 and
sponsored Matt Eling and Danny Jackson in a recent walkathon. Thank you for your
generous support! The
Land
and Sea Event recently sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover raised over $1,250 for
the school. Proceeds from wine
sales are still pending, but will increase this donation. Our thanks to our friends
at Land Rover
and to all the NAPS families that participated. Hearing
and Vision Screenings are scheduled for Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3. These screenings

questionable results will be forwarded directly to the parent for further

those families with an account
balance will be issued an invoice. An invoice for the annual book/supply and building maintenance
